Hjulbob opens in May!

Spring is finally here and we can't wait to open the bobsleigh track for our summer guests. As early as May 6, we will be running the roller coaster and ticket sales are well under way. We recommend all our guests to pre-book their tour before arriving at the course.

Lillehammer's most adrenaline-filled summer activity!

This year's season runs from 6 May to 17 September.

We are open Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00-17:00. In the period 17 June to 20 August inclusive, we are open every day.

Proceed to the order page to see available time slots.

Hjulbob is an adrenaline-filled summer activity that is a perfect additional activity for those of you who are spending your summer holiday in Lillehammer. Children from the age of 10 can join, but only people over the age of 12 can drive without a guardian. For safety reasons, there are space limitations in a roller coaster. Therefore, it is only possible to drive with 2 or 3 people in each bob (in addition to the pilot). It is not possible to drive with only 1 person. The roller coaster travels at about 100 km/h and you will feel a pressure of 3G in the turns. If you are pregnant or have problems with your health (neck, back, heart etc.), you unfortunately cannot carry out this activity.

Price per trip is NOK 1200. Please note that the price applies per trip, regardless of whether there are two or three passengers in the cabin.

We also welcome guests who just want to visit the arena. Take a walk along the track and experience the bobsleds whizzing past at great speed. We also have an open kiosk where you can buy souvenirs, ice cream, soft drinks and coffee.

Magical Olympic memories

In 2024, it will be 30 years since the Olympics in Lillehammer. When we look back at the memories from 1994, it is often the well-known sports memories of Dæhlie, Koss and Bredesen that first come to mind. But we now want to make room for the unknown, personal and funny stories from the magical time at Lillehammer. The stories that no one has heard before about the people you probably haven't seen before. Throughout a whole year, until February 2024, we will present the stories through the video series "My magical Olympic memory", where you will hear the stories told by those who were there and experienced the magic!

Do you have a story that should be told? Send us an email to kommunikation@olympiaparken.no and tell us about your memory.

Here you can go skiing!

Winter has finally arrived in Lillehammer and we are well underway with preparing the season's ski slopes. We are going through an active period with, among other things, the World Cup in the Olympic park's facilities, and we therefore want to inform you about where and how you can use the tracks for training in the coming weeks.

We have removed large parts of last year's snow stock from the Birkebeineren ski stadium into the nearby slopes, and with a solid addition of fresh natural snow these will be cracking fine ski slopes. At the biathlon stadium, there will be a lot of rigging and preparation for the event, so we therefore ask everyone to respect the barriers around the ski stadium. We will update the matter as soon as it is possible to use the ski stadium again. But we can please you with the fact that the slopes are available for general use from lunch Thursday 24 November.

Trails
We lay out snow on the 3.3 kilometer track that will be used during the World Cup. In addition, we put snow in all the shortcuts between the various parts of the World Cup course so that there will be some flat sections as well (see map below).

Parking
As long as the ski stadium is closed to traffic, it is also not possible to travel between the parking lot and the slopes. We therefore ask everyone to use parking in Kantvegen during this short period (see map).

See you on the ski track! GOOD TRIP!

See who won the naming contest

The building finally has an official name!

The name competition for the old goal house at the Birkebeineren ski stadium has ended and we have received an enormous number of good suggestions. The jury has had a thorough review this week and the result may come as a surprise. Because when creative suggestions like Lounge-94, Målfrid og BB living room also ticked into the inbox were the protests against changing the name. Why name something that already has a name? - people ask.

One proposal has therefore been repeated in the competition, and it turns out that the simple is often the best this time too. Among local guests, this building goes by the unofficial name Old target house or just The target house. And that's how it will actually continue to be, but this time 100% official! The new/old name will therefore be "Målhuset". Easily!

We have drawn a winner of the competition, who then became Bojan Radanovic.
We thank you for a clear and honest input! 😁

I don't know who thinks it should be called something new and different. It is a historic building, in a new guise. It should be called that, it is known colloquially. The old target house, old target house or just the target house are names that are real to preserve the history, anything else is too silly.

Bojan Radanovic

Name competition - Win a gift card of NOK 2000

What should this building be called?

The old goal house at the Birkebeineren ski stadium has received a significant lift in the past year and is now ready for a new era. Ever since 1994, this has served as the goal house for countless championships. The building has its history and you can almost feel the joys and disappointments that remain in the walls since the 90s. With its unique design and history, we are looking forward to finally being able to use the target house for new purposes in the future.

From now on, there will be different uses throughout the year, with everything from a cafe, reception for camping, function rooms and meeting rooms. We have built out a large terrace and put in more toilets and a kitchen. The building has become like a "child" to us during the renovation period, but unfortunately the "child" has not been given a name. Internally, it goes by the name "old target house", but we believe that the building deserves a better name than that. That's why we want to ask our own guests what you think the building should be called.

The best name proposal will be awarded with a gift card of NOK 2000 for our activity offer* and not least a significant place in the building's "history book".

*The gift card can be used for the following activities: Roller coaster, taxi bob, bob rafting, tobogganing, squash, golf simulator or chair lift in Lysgårdsbakkene.

Deadline for submission is Monday 13 June at 12:00

From winter to summer

We are getting ready for summer

We are nearing the end of the winter season and are now getting ready for summer activity in our facilities. Warm days have reduced the amount of snow in Lillehammer snow park and this was therefore the last weekend of tobogganing. We also end alpine skiing this week and have the last opening night on Wednesday 6 April. Behind us we have the most visited season in history and we are already looking forward to reopening in December. In the meantime, some warm nice months await with summer activities in the Olympic Park.

The winter season in the bobsleigh is also over, but already on May 6, we are in the process of wheel bobbing in the facility. Tickets can be purchased now in our online store.Wheelbob

At the end of May we also open the chairlift and 936SHOP in Lysgårdsbakkene. Further towards the summer holidays, the campsite at the ski stadium is also open. We will return with specific opening hours at a later date.

In the meantime, we recommend using the opportunity for both golf and squash in Håkon's hall sports center. We also run ski trails from Birkebeineren ski stadium for as long as possible in the coming weeks.

We thank all our guests for a magical winter with a lot of fun and welcome you back this summer!
