Season start for bobraft and taxi boob

Already in October, the first professional athletes come to Norway and Lillehammer to train in our Olympic bobsleigh and toboggan run. But from 17 November, we will also open the course for you who want to experience a completely unique and adrenaline-filled trip with bob. Here you get to feel the g-forces on your body when you speed down the 1710 meter long track at up to 120 km / h. The track is the only one of its kind in the entire Nordic region and was built for the Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994. Get ready for a magical experience!

Bobraft is a fun experience for both young and old. Here you get to experience a speed of about 100 km / h. Bobraften can accommodate 4 people. Taxibob is the most extreme experience. Here you get to join a real four-bob and feel g-forces all the way up to 5G and a speed of 120 km / h. Taxibob is suitable for you who love adrenaline and extreme activities. Both bobsleighs are controlled by authorized pilots and you will receive training before the trip starts.

You can buy tickets in our online store and everyone who buys before the start of the season on 17 November will receive them 20% rebatet by using the discount code WINTER FUN.

Welcome to a completely unique experience this winter!

The Olympic Park has received corona support

On Friday 19 March 2021 came the phone call we have been waiting for a long time. The government has allocated NOK 10 million to the Olympic Park as a one-time grant due to our financial loss as a result of the pandemic.

Ever since the closure in March 2020, the Olympic Park has suffered major financial losses as a result of the corona pandemic. We applied for support for the first time in the summer of 2020, but were not granted support as we are municipally owned.

Abid Raja to NRK:

- The park is of great national importance and interest. It is due to the very special position they hold that the ministry exceptionally grants this one-off grant. As they are publicly owned, this has been a very difficult nut to crack legally, says Raja.

We would like to thank the government and everyone who has worked to achieve this. This has been incredibly important for the future of the Olympic Park.

Now we look ahead and look forward to more magical moments in the Olympic Park!

Join and create history!

For the World Cup in snow sports for pair athletes, which will be held in Lillehammer and Hafjell in February 2021, the world's best in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon and snowboarding will gather for the first time for a joint world championship. Now we are looking for volunteers who want to be part of creating history!

Lillehammer is no stranger to arranging major sporting events. The city has hosted the 1994 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the 2016 Youth Olympics as well as several X-games, the World Para Snow Sports and the FIS World Cup.

The exercises in cross-country skiing and biathlon will be held at Lillehammer, more specifically the Birkebeineren ski stadium, while the exercises for alpine and snowboarding will take place 15 km away, in Hafjell.

A total of 82 medals will be awarded during the two-week competition. 31 medals will be awarded in alpine skiing, 18 in biathlon, 20 in cross-country skiing and 13 in snowboarding.

The biggest stars from the four sports, including Paralympic champions and world champions, will compete for gold at Lillehammer 2021. A total of around 750 participants are expected, this includes 200 Nordic skiers, 120 alpinists and 60 snowboarders.

Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Abid Raja visits the Olympic Park

Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Abid Q. Raja visited the Olympic Park today. Among other things, the Minister was presented with the consequences that the corona pandemic has created after the cessation of activities and events in our facilities.

It was also time for a nice meeting with our local jumping stars Maren Lundby and Robert Johansson who are currently training in Lysgårdsbakkene.
We thank Abid for his great enthusiasm for the sport and understanding of our concerns.

DRIVE-IN KINO in Håkons hall

At Easter, Lillehammer cinema moves into Håkons hall with its DRIVE-IN KINO!

We are in a time where you have to be creative and see opportunities if you want to get somewhere further. The measures to limit the infection of the corona virus have meant that large parts of the Olympic Park's activity offerings are closed and thus one must open up new ideas. That's why Lillehammer cinema, Total Production and Olympiaparken have joined forces to create a new and exciting offering for Lillehammer's population.

Wednesday April 8th is the premiere of the unique drive-in movie theater in Håkons hall! We open the gate and let you and the family drive the car all the way into the hall, park in front of the cinema screen and connect the radio to the cinema! Everything is arranged so that all considerations of fire, escape routes and infection are taken care of and thus can offer a safe and fun offer for everyone!

There will be three performances per day, which will run throughout Easter (April 8 - April 12)

The performances will be set at the following times:
15.00 XNUMX pm
18.00 XNUMX pm
21.00 XNUMX pm

Landmark Lillehammer 2020 is canceled

On Thursday, March 12, Lillehammer Olympiapark AS decided to cancel Landstreff Lillehammer 1-3. May 2020 in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus. We have chosen to make an early decision in order to give the Russians plenty of time to handle the cancellation in the best possible way. This will, among other things, allow for cancellation of hotels, travel and other costs that are outside the organizer's responsibility. Costs associated with festival passes and other services directly related to Landstreff Lillehammer will be reimbursed to all Russians. The refund will be made automatically within a few days via our ticket supplier Ticketmaster. Tickets and services that may be resold will not be refunded to the new owner.

We have worked closely with artists, suppliers and partners to find a financial deal that we can all live with in this situation. Here, all parties have shown understanding and flexibility in a demanding situation. This was crucial in order to guarantee the Russian full refund. We thank all artists, suppliers and partners for putting the health of Russia ahead of the economy and their own needs.

We urge the 2020 Russian to take this situation seriously and hope for understanding that the event will unfortunately have to be canceled. In the future, we will focus on the Landreffet in 2021, and more information will be available in the spring.

We all wish Russ a nice Russian celebration, although not everything became as we hoped for in 2020.

5 fun winter activities for the whole family

Wondering what to do this weekend? Or maybe it's the family vacation that should be filled with something fun? We've compiled some of Olympic Park's best winter activities that we think will be perfect outings for families with children of all ages.

  1. Skiing for the whole family

Whether you have big or small children, skiing is always a success. We recommend our fantastic ski runs at the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium. From here you can take the kids on short and easy skiing in newly repaired trails around the stadium. You can easily customize the route to the family level. Feel free to bring your packed lunch and enjoy it in our gap hawks or visit the Skistua Café which offers food, drink and heat.

2. For families with children over 5 years

Winter's most popular activity for families with children is clearly tobogganing in the Kanthaugen Freestyling facility. Here you can enjoy the view over Lillehammer while you rush down the newly repaired trails on our super-sleds! You can easily attach the toboggan to the lift that pulls you all the way to the top. We have family packages that include lift passes, toboggan, helmet and glasses for the whole family

3. For families with children over 10 years

If you want an activity with more speed and excitement, we recommend trying our very unique winter activity bob rafting. Just 15 minutes north of Lillehammer you will find the Nordic's only bob and toboggan run where you can experience one of our most adrenaline-filled winter activities. Bobraft is a rubber bob with a top speed of 100km / h and can accommodate 5 passengers. The activity has an age limit of 10 years and the bob is controlled by one of our authorized pilots.

4. For the toughest!

Are you ready for the most intense winter experience? Then taxi tax is our best tip! You will feel the adrenaline at a speed of up to 120 km / h and the pressure of 5G on the body. As one of the few courses in the world used for top-level bobs, we offer an extraordinary experience! Afterwards, you will receive a diploma and membership in the 5G club. An authorized pilot controls the bob and can also carry up to 3 passengers.
